Hainan airline provide direct flight from Boston, US to Beijing, China, which is very convenient. The only issue we had was that my infant bought full ticket, however, when he was transferring from international to national flight (Beijing -> Shanghai), we were informed that the infant didn't even have a ticket. It probably became an issue because he was not allowed to have a seat within China. Hope this issue will not happen again. Otherwise, we like this airline, the services, food, timing are all perfect for a lengthy international trip.
Best domestic flight I’ve been on for a very long time. Way better than any of the Australian carriers for domestic flights!!

My first time flying Hainan Airlines. Boarding process was easy and quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was a simple, hot meal which we don’t see much any more on short flights in the US. Only water, coffee or tea to drink but it was only a two hour flight. Overall pleasing experience.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had flying. I am a regular flyer and was transferring from Seoul to Beijing to the USA. I was told the companies were partnered so no need to pick up my baggage, I got through eventually after a terribly confusing airport and unhelpful staff, had issues with the check in counter where they didn’t understand my baggage tag from the previous airline and that my bag needed transferring (which as a company partnership they should have communication like this) and then I got through extremely stressful security with multiple stops and the plane was poor quality (same exact quality as my 1.5 hour flight there) for a 16 hour flight with poor food quality, slow trash service, and less than 15 movies total for flight options I was absolutely over it. My only good thing was I was lucky enough to be sitting by myself in a row
Good flight, on time. The aircraft was old and the seats lost their shapes. Food was just acceptable.
Two hours delayed departure ! Lost one of our luggage! Two days later found the luggage, again waiting for more than two hours to get the lost luggage because locked at other airline office.
Hainan Airlines was amongst the best. It's sad to see her becoming just mediocre. I recommended her as outstanding. I won't recommend her again.
They asked how much cash i have . I said no cash they said bring cash from atm . Why they even care about my cash.
Flight was scheduled to depart at 1210 hrs. It was delayed 1 hour 20 minutes (maybe for air traffic control reasons). The seats were worn out and very uncomfortable. Lunch was typical for airline. Flight free were friendly.
Again, have your ducks in a row as an airline. This is an embarrassment for any of us who have lived in Vienna.
1) have phone numbers where we can call... a human... not this bot stuff... 2) the austrian airlines crew directs us to the airport lost and found for left behind objects, then the airport lost and found directs us back to them. Listen y'all, if you can't get this straight, what are you thinking expecting us to? Cheap, unprofessional, looks like a airline on the way to going under. If you can't afford well-trained staff... well... ask not for whom be bell tolls... it tolls for you.
Just overall a poor experience with little to justify the price of the ticket!
My Austrian Air flight from Montenegro to Vienna was delayed by three hours because their plane de-icer was broken and they had to wait for the sun to come up before the ice could melt. This meant we missed our United flight altogether. So I can't speak about United, but I was not impressed by Austrian Air. They made us check in two carry on bags for a 60% full flight, and the bags didn't find us in the US for ten days. The re-routing they arranged included an extra leg, a midnight taxi ride across New Jersey and New York, and a five hour sleep in a hotel. Not impressed.
Pleasant up to Vienna. Afterward (Vienna- Zagreb) was an horrific experience
I paid for carry-on bag, but they did not let me take it on board, persuaded to check it in because the flight was full. I agreed to help them out, and they mixed up tag numbers and my bag got lost. I had very valuable things in there, and my whole vacation experience was ruined. I even asked the boarding assistant why the tag number was different from the assigned one, but they assured me it was alright and the bag will arrive to my destination. Nothing arrived of course. Incompetence of boarding assistants cost me the loss of all my things.
They lost our luggage and there has been no news for 5 days. I called their office and they said they can’t help us, we don’t do anything about it.
Austrian was not the issue. Kayak was terrible The flight was canceled. Frustrating but it can happen. The worst was Kayak's customer support around re-booking. I have chatted with a bot, than with a person who insisted the flight was still on as originally booked. while chatting i went on Austrian web page and told the kayak chat lady that the flight is shown as cancelled. She said she will escalate this and that someone will contact me within the hour. When I have asked her to give me the details of the flight she sees, She gave me the general A to B and return B to A. Totally unhelpful. After two hours I contacted them again, They were still saying the original flight is as scheduled and when I explained again I was told I will be contacted within 2-6 hours. NO ONE CONTACTED ME EVER SINCE! I have than contacted Austrian directly and was rebooked on a difficult flight. Kayak continued to send me irrelevant updates about my original flight. Terrible customer service at time of need.
Austrian airline they cancel my fight , and the couldn’t give me flight , they said only available flight 4th and after , I sacked for refund, even from you KYAK , and tell now no any refund , because what happened I lost more money because I have to stay in hotel and then I buy new ticket

the seat sizes and the distance row to row was not comfortable. when a passenger in front seat put it down (he kept it all the time during the flight since he didn't fit in the space) their seat was squishing my knees and it was very difficult under their weight. It lasted 12 hours and was extremely uncomfortable. The rest of the experience was very good.
Very bad boarding staff. I was flying business. We were stashed in a bus as much as it could be filled with business then economy passengers. By the time we have reached the plane we have waithed 10 more minutes inside the bus mext to the plane because of some documental work in the plane. I guess TGS -Turkish Airlines Ground Services forgot yo radio the plane if it was ready.
The connecting flight experience was okay. Flight crew's service were great upon settling. However, it wasn't the same as previous flight. Flight crew were okay - friendly, however, not as accommodating.
Changed to older plane with old set-up in Business class.

Absolutely horrible experience. It's an overnight flight for over 5 hours and business class does not have beds!!!!! I had a slightly bigger than economy class seat that was broken and not even reclining correctly. I should get a refund for this flight as they changed the aircraft to a small one and that is not what I paid the business class price for!
Lost long time boarding because of a system anticipation done and they took to long to rectify when travel avant told them .
The seat did not recline and we called the stewardess, he forced it to recline, but when we landed, it did not come forward because the seat was broken. The stewardess came, He tried to do it but couldn't do it, the flight commander came and spoke to us in a bad tone, telling us to get out of here, she waited at the head and acted as if there was a child and we couldn't get up, it was very shameful, I don't even know if it's true, but she said if you don't get up, the plane will not land and will keep turning around. Then a passenger pushed the seat from behind and it worked. Then we wanted to talk to the supervisor again, but she did not come next to us. We fly so much and this is the first time we encountered such a style.
The flight was delayed by 1.5 hours without much explanation and they ran out of complimentary bag for inflight comfort. Would like to know if i can can get compensation

Basic long haul decent price but U pay for what you get. Over 5hrs of transit and terminal was pretty bare with nothing much to do except the lounge
Business Class window seat on my Shanghai to Venice route was broken and could not be converted into a bed which has to switch to a narrow aisle seat instead
It was just fine. The sirlines did live up fully to my expectation.
While boarding at PVG, there was a ticket checking by the gate, then there was another ticket checking right at the bottom of the escalator, which created quite a dangerous congestion. Don't understand why the duplication?
I was traveling alone with an infant, so the crew was incredibly helpful. Both the international and subsequent domestic flights were impeccable.
The flight was delayed by 2 hours, although to their credit they delayed my connecting flight so people could reach it. Also their site is a nightmare to navigate on a phone. Everything else was good.
CTU-KMG-CNX with 1.5 hr connection at KMG. Doable but just barely bc immigration exit from China is at the last flight leg, here: KMG to CNX. We hauled out of the domestic terminal to reenter at the international departures (luggage checked thru to CNX thankfully). Immigration had only two agents, even though KMG gets a HUGE number of foreigners. It took forever for such a shot line. Then security also took a while, so I just just made the connection. Recommend if you exit China with domestic international transfer, plan for 2+ hrs to avoid a heart attack. Airline personnel don’t suffer if you miss the flight, you do. Plan accordingly.
China Eastern as a member of Sky Alliance airlines should have the same standards overall of their partners, Besides the seats comforts everything else is bellow the standard for a business class travelers.
2 parts to the journey. First leg covered in a newer plane with decent staff + POOR FOOD QUALITY but the second half didn’t leave a positive impression at all as the plane itself was an older built and the crew didn’t serve properly. Language is an issue with China Eastern flights as always, but unmotivated crew just makes it even bad.
Small plane with only two lavatories at the back. You must have a good plan to use it before or after the meal, if you make a bad decision, you will end up with standing in front of the toilet for a while till the food carts empty. The good thing is even there’s a slightly delayed, the plane is still arriving on time which is superb!!
I liked the professional service that began with the information and continued with boarding and the service on board. I recommend you to use the late-night checkin the day before your flight. It made traveling so much better and more pleasant.
Forced gate checking of a soft sided rucksack while allowing hard sided cases on the plane when claiming there was limited room was a bit of a joke. The boarding was a free for all with business classes not getting priority and the food was pretty bland and cold (KLM can do a hot meal on shorter European flights). For a National carrier operating from a home base I expected better. Flight was delayed in both Berlin and Munich and due to the delays I missed my ground connection costing me another £80. Had my bag not been gate checked by a overzealous gate agent doing selective enforcement for non Germans then I would have easily made the connection even with the flight delays. Think I will avoid star alliance in the future and stick to sky team or one world.
I fly to Germany every year and prefer the most direct flight routes. Lufthansa offers this route, allowing me to fly from my home airport directly to Germany. The food and service were excellent. The staff was most accommodating, very professional, and friendly. The only issue I did not care for was the seating arrangement. I fly business and did not appreciate the configuration of the business class. Understandably, you will always have someone seated next to you, but then install a separation screen to allow for a little more privacy. United and British Airways are miles ahead in creating a more personal space. Lufthansa should do better.
Premium Economy was very comfortable. Flight staff was cheerful and helpful.
Not enough time between connecting flights. We had to run through the Frankfurt airport and nearly missed our flight to the US. Extremely tight seating in Economy. No room and I'm not a large person. Please prevent any seats from reclining so my kneecaps are not destroyed again. Entertainment system touch screen did not recognize inputs. Seemed to be a problem for many. Crew were very nice and the food was not bad.
I liked everything excepct the noise of the engine inside de airplane was a little bite higher.
I was not seated with my husband despite paying to choose seats. My luggage was not put on the plane so didn't get it for 3 days.

Staff and crew were very helpful. I wish there was less delays on the flights that made it stressful for the connecting flights.
