We reserved a car twice through Thrifty at the Montevideo airport. The first time they responded that they couldn't fulfill our reservation. Then we saw availability again, and reserved again. This time no reply, but we called to confirm with them a few days later. They said they did not have any cars available and could not fulfill our request. They never actually cancelled our reservation. Very frustrating??

Passenger van

wasn't given the van that was booked, despite the fact that several were on the lot. Instead was given a subcompact Fiat SUV. Upon return I was told that I had damaged the car. Supposedly there is a new, barely visible scratch on the driver side rear view mirror. If I had inspected every square inch of the vehicle with a loupe, I might have detected this during pick up. But who does that. Now their inspection report describes it as "Total damage" and shows my signature, even though the statement I signed said No Damage. The price was good, but the actual rental experience was terrible

Never got the car, after arriving nobody was in the office and after calling multiple times they didn’t have any reservation made to my name despite having the reservation and itinerary numbers. They shielded behind the excuse of making a deposit to reserve and I was never ask that until that moment, plus no cell service to call customer support to resolve the issue with KAYAK. Someone made a mistake along those lines and I never do it again.

They did not have my reservation and blamed Kayak. They tried to upsell me another car for $100 more and force me to pay insurance even though I have local insurance, international insurance, and insurance via my credit card.
