Remain alert to the numerous mopeds which are constant features on Italian roads.  Roads in Italy can seem more aggressive than what you are normally used to, but in general, the conditions are good. It pays to be decisive as well as assertive when behind the wheel.

To hire rental vehicles in Italy, 18 years of age is the minimum age requirement.  Drivers under the age of 25 may encounter surcharges when hiring vehicles. Possible restrictions on the categories may also be limited as to what can be hired. Only full valid licences are permitted. Make sure an International Permit has been acquired to comply with EU regulations. Another form of ID such as a passport is advisable. You will also need a credit card to complete the booking.
