Pros (+) I was happy that I could pull my car up to a few feet from the door of my room. Made it easier to make sure my stuff wasn't being stolen.
Cons (-) My key card didn't work (apparently because it was pouring rain?) so the front desk guy handed me a physical key, which he claimed would open any door in the motel. I never tested his claim. But if he did that for me, how many other people did he do that for? I'm glad that I only stayed one night. I brought my dog with me.
